The idea of swirling reversed fretless notes is a sound I like a lot - in this piece they reminded me of some of the colors Henry Mancini might use. Interwoven bass funk like parts form the back bone of the 1st section. Some short reversed bass notes lap us up to the choruses which features the wonderful Lisbeth Scott on vocals, Nick Mancini on vibes, Juan Chaves on trumpet. Kait Dunton’s beautiful Wurlitzer piano solo takes us up into the heavens in the middle section (to work with this caliber of musician is so special and Kait brings everything to the table). Jake Reed (amazing as usual) on drums and perc and Aaron Serfaty percolating on Congas.
